Leg covers
What is a prosthetic leg cover?
A tube of stretch fabric with an all-over print. It goes over the outside of a below-knee prosthesis to dress it up. The fabric is 90% polyester and 10% elastane, with a white inside.
Is it a medical device?
No. It’s decorative apparel. It doesn’t treat, support or protect anything. It doesn’t replace your liner, your prosthetic socks or anything your prosthetist fitted. If you’re not sure fabric belongs over your socket, ask your prosthetist before you wear it.
Is it really a neck gaiter?
The blank is the same midweight stretch tube that’s sold as a neck gaiter. We print our designs on it and sell it for legs. Wear it wherever you like.
Will it fit my socket?
We can’t promise that, so measure first. With your prosthesis on the way you wear it, measure the socket’s widest point. If the cover will go over your suspension sleeve, measure over the sleeve. Then measure the length you want covered. Relaxed, the cover is about 16.5 in around (S), 18 in (M) or 19 in (L). It stretches in every direction, but the maker doesn’t publish how far, so we won’t guess. Between sizes, or is your socket’s widest point over 19 in? Email us your numbers before you order. How do I put it on?
Put your prosthesis on the way your prosthetist showed you, with your liner, socks and suspension sleeve as usual. Then pull the cover on last, over the outside. Never put the cover under a suspension sleeve. It never goes inside the socket or between your skin, liner and socket either. Keep it clear of anything you need to reach, like a valve, a pin-lock release button or a lanyard. If anything changes how your prosthesis feels or moves, take the cover off and ask your prosthetist.
Does it work on an above-knee prosthesis?
No. Our covers are for the outside of a below-knee prosthesis only. Never pull one over a knee joint or any part that bends, locks or moves.
Socks, tees and hoodies
Socks come in pairs. I have one foot.
Wear one and keep one as a spare. Or put the other one on your prosthetic foot. It’s your leg, dress it.
What size are the socks?
One size. The maker says they fit women’s US 5 to 15 and men’s US 3 to 13. Flat, each sock is about 15.5 in long and 3.3 in wide, with a black heel and toe.
How do the tees and hoodies fit?
Both are unisex. The tee is a Bella+Canvas 3001 in 4.2 oz cotton. The hoodie is a Gildan 18500 in a cotton-poly blend, with a front pocket and a drawcord hood. The size guide has the measurements for every size.
How do I wash it?
Covers: machine wash warm, up to 105°F, and tumble dry low. Socks: machine wash cold on gentle, up to 90°F, and tumble dry low. Tees and hoodies: machine wash cold, up to 90°F. Tumble dry the tee low and the hoodie medium. The product page lists the full care label.
Are your designs original?
Yes. Every pattern and slogan was drawn for Loud Limb. No licensed characters, team logos or borrowed art.
Orders and shipping
Where is my order printed?
In the United States, by our print partners. The blank items come from their makers, and some are made outside the US.
How long does it take?
Your order usually goes to print within a business day. Printing usually takes 1 to 2 business days. Standard delivery usually takes 2 to 5 business days after it ships. The shipping page has the details.
How much is shipping?
Standard tracked shipping is $4.99 per order. Orders of $40 or more, after discounts, ship free. We ship to US addresses only.
Do you ship outside the US?
Not yet. For now we only ship to addresses in the United States.
Why did my order come in two boxes?
Different products are printed by different partners. An order with a cover and a hoodie can arrive in separate packages, on different days.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Email us as fast as you can. If your order hasn’t gone to print, we can change or cancel it. Once it’s printing, we can’t.
How do I pay?
By card at checkout. Your card details go to our payment processor. We never store your full card number.
Returns
What if my item arrives misprinted or damaged?
Email a photo within 30 days of delivery. We’ll send a replacement or refund that item. You choose.
What if I ordered the wrong size?
You get one size swap per order. We print the new size, and you pay only $4.99 standard shipping for it. One-size socks can’t be swapped. The returns page has the rules.
Can I return something I just don’t like?
No. Every item is printed for your order, so we can’t take back change-of-mind returns.
